Yet is such a powerful word. It can change defeat into intention. A word can change the way people think. It can change the way we feel. It can change our perception of reality.
When we’re disappointed in ourselves it’s easy to be defeatist. We think we aren’t talented, or effective, or powerful enough to achieve what we want to. Putting ‘Yet’ at the end of sentences when we’re in this mood can be just the determined refocusing we need to put some hope back into our minds.
I can’t sing well….. yet.
I don’t like my new house … yet.
We can’t save the environment … yet.
My neighbor has never smiled at me … yet.
My kids just won’t behave … yet.
I never have enough money… yet.
Tomorrow is another day, and hopefully a better one. We can hang in there, while looking forward.
