Kindness and Social Equity

Social equity means that our laws treat all people fairly, without bias. Equity takes into account the current state of society, and tries to make sure everyone in the community has the same access to opportunities. Equity is when inequalities noticed, admitted to, and worked on in order to be eliminated.

So, it’s just kind to give people the help they need, rather than the same help as everyone else. We are all individuals with different needs and capabilities. Attempting to build a system that is fair to all is the best way to find happiness and share it with others.

It gets complicated when we begin to talk about the details. People tend to agree that large inequalities in wealth are no good for humanity, but start disagreeing on details of how, when and who to help the disadvantaged. What if we took the approach of looking for the ways in which to spread as much kindness as possible? If we all work together, we can get rid of the idea that help one person receives doesn’t detract from the pool of kindness, leaving less for others, but enlarges it. If we empower each other more people will have more to give.
