Kindness Doesn’t Require Agreement

We don’t have to agree about anything in order to be kind to each other.
It’s often intuitive for us to be kind to children whether they are disagreeing with us or not. That doesn’t mean we let them cross boundaries. It’s kind to show them where the boundaries are. The same is true with adults. We can expect a more equal power balance, and respect, with fellow adults but if interactions aren’t what you should expect there’s no need to get mean or vengeful. In response we draw different boundaries in that relationship, stay kind, and move forward.
